Nobel Fire Systems pulls out the stops to install fire-suppression system

Nobel Fire Systems, kitchen, fire suppression
The fire-suppression system for the new catering residence at Aberystwyth University was installed in double-quick time by Nobel Fire Systems.

The speed with which Nobel Fire Systems could deliver and install a complete fire-suppression system at Penbryn catering residence, part of Aberystwyth University was a key factor in the choice of supplier for this project. The Nobel K-Series system was commissioned by Prospect Catering Equipment. Not only was the installation completed extremely quickly, but the K-Series system has helped achieve an aesthetically pleasing kitchen environment with no pipework or protruding nozzles visible.

The installation provides full protection to all cooking appliances, extract canopies and ductwork. K-Series fire-protection systems are electronically controlled with no mechanical moving parts. An installation comprises stainless-steel cylinders containing an F class wet chemical liquid designed for fast flame knock down and fire suppression. The near-neutral pH ensures there is no damage to kitchen appliances. The effectiveness of the K-Series in limiting the volume of liquid discharged to control the situation minimises subsequent cleaning.
