Clyde introduces new condensing boilers
Published: January 2011
The Alkon range of aluminium condensing boilers from Clyde Energy Solutions is available as wall-hung and floor-standing models. When operating in condensing mode at 50/30°C, the wall-hung boilers can achieve net efficiencies of up to 107.3% and the floor-standing models 109.1%. All models have a fully modulating pre-mix gas burner and integral pump that modulates to match flow rate to heat output for even greater operating efficiency by maximising the difference between flow and return temperatures. Wall-hung boilers have outputs of 50 and 90 kW. The floor-standing model has an output of 90 kW. Up to eight wall-hung boilers can installed in a back-to-back frame to deliver an output of up to 560 kW. A modular arrangement of 4x2 floor-standing boilers can be created by simply bolting them together using built-in interconnecting pipework. These boilers have a flexible condensate-drain connection that is compatible with standard plastic waste pipes. Wall-hung units can be supplied with a range of purpose-made stainless-steel and plastic flue systems — including Type C concentric, Type C twin tube and Type B powered.
