Shouksmith’s north-west division has won eight new contracts worth a total of £1.42 million, including two for affordable housing and regeneration specialist Lovell in Liverpool. The contracts for Lovell are worth a total of £704 000; both involve installing heating and plumbing services for housing regeneration projects at Netherley and Kensington in Liverpool.

In St Helens, a project for Bramall Construction worth £315 000 is for 38 new houses and 24 apartments; it involves the installation of whole-house heat recovery systems.

The Lovell projects involve installing solar thermal systems that are supported by combination boilers if their delivery temperature falls below 60°C. Rainwater harvesting systems are also being installed, as well as whole-house heat-recovery systems.

Michael Draper, director of Shouksmith’s north west division, said, ‘The projects for Lovell and Bramall are the first of this type of work in the north west and mark our entry into a new sector in this region that offers great potential for the future. It is also encouraging to see the growth in demand for energy-saving systems, which can make a significant difference in reducing the running costs of properties.’
