WR Refrigeration achieves F-gas compliance

All WR Refrigeration engineers have successfully completed F-gas refrigerant safe-handling training and assessment, three months ahead of the mandatory deadline of 4 July 2011. The certification programme covered more than 250 installation and field service engineers working throughout the company’s nationwide network. The company’s engineers are all certified under the City & Guild’s Level Two award in F-gas and ODS Regulations: Category 1 (2079-110. Because of the scale of the programme, the company carried out training in-house at several regional centres based at its branches in East Kilbride, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff and Southampton, which are registered City & Guilds training centres.

Patrick Mullins, business development and marketing director, said, ‘Embarking on a training programme of this magnitude could potentially have impacted our ability to maintain service levels to customers. However, taking the training to our engineers has enabled us to limit any disruption to the business to a minimum — and achieve full compliance well ahead of the deadline and many of our competitors.’
