CIBSE invites industry comments on BIM product data templates

Published:  03 September, 2014

CIBSE’s BIM steering group, in partnership with industry bodies and professional engineering institutions, has develop product data templates (PDTs) designed to fast-track the flow of general product information into BIM models. The first PDTs are now being made available for public consultation, and CIBSE is seeking feedback from the building-services sector, particularly trade associations and manufacturers of relevant products.

Eight PDTs are available online for comment and feedback. Over 150 more are being developed. The first PDTs include air diffusers, heat detectors, isolation valves, pumps, radiators and smoke detectors.
