Hot water that doesn’t run out at tourist site

Hot water for a new toilet and shower block at the Sunbourne Glan y Mor Leisure Park in west Wales is provided by two Rinnai Infinity HDC 1500 continuous-flow units. The facilities cater for campers and touring caravans and also include a launderette.

Will Jones, who owns the site, explains, ‘The new toilet and shower block replaces some old portacabins with stored hot water. This facility is modern and spacious.’ The water heaters were recommended by Rinnai’s representative Martin Embley following a site visit.

The system tank in the old facilities went cold when demand was high. Now there is no problem of hot water running out at peak times.

Demand is very variable, with a hundred showers a day at peak season and falling to as few as 10 off season.

Will Jones says, ‘I have no complaints about the system, and we are seeing major savings since the installation in March. I am now thinking about having a Rinnai system put into the pool area to serve four showers that run almost continuously during the summer.

‘When the other shower block’s conventional system is written off, Rinnai units will be going in there too.’
