Goodmarriott & Hursthouse bought by Dutch group
Published:  July 2005

Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, one of the UK’s oldest electrical-engineering companies, has been bought by Imtech, the European-wide technical-services provider.

Employing over 200 people, Goodmarriott & Hursthouse has its headquarters in Nottingham and an office at Ossett near Leeds.

Trevor Hursthouse, owner and managing director of the company expresses satisfaction at the sale to a company of Imtech’s quality and stature: ‘I see this as the opportunity to take Goodmarriott & Hursthouse to the next step in its development as a major player in the electrical-and-mechanical building-services sector.

‘Imtech’s ownership will allow the company to maintain its independence in its work for main contractors and clients. The move secures the long-term future of the business and provides key staff with an opportunity to develop professionally outside the private-owner environment.’

The business will operate alongside Imtech’s UK Meica Group.

Goodmarriott & Hursthouse will continue to be run by the existing team, and there will continue to be a commitment to the expansion of current services, supported by Meica’s strength in the London market. The acquisition takes the technical-services business of Imtech Meica to around £110 million a year.
