Thermal Transfer has secured a £5.25 million contract for the design and build of a new sterilising suite for medical instrument and manufacturing facility for Vernon-Carus.

This independent medical-device company at Matrix Park, Chorley, has built an 8000 m2 building to accommodate these facilities, together with a warehouse, executive offices and reception.

Thermal Transfer’s Glossop office has total responsibility for the design and build of all the classified and unclassified rooms, which include a 2000 m2 medical-instrument sterilising suite for infection control and a production clean room of similar size, principally for sterile wound-care products.

An associated plant room includes the generation of clean steam and air-handling units with HEPA air filtration.
