Published: February 2006
roles in hospital project Building-services contractor Briggs & Forrester took on the role of both main contractor and consultant in a £750 000 contract to install a new steam boiler at Guy & St Thomas’s Hospital in London. Its special-projects division obtained architectural and planning approvals and carried out a structural assessment before completing remedial works to floors, bases and flues. The division then went on to negotiate the installation of a new gas supply before completing work that included fitting gas boosters, controls, general electrics and a fire-detection system. The contract was completed without loss of supplies while the hospital was open and providing its usual services. |
