Toshiba launches heat-recovery VRF

Small and compact, but capable of serving large buildings — Toshiba’s SHRM VRF system.

Toshiba’s Super Heat Recovery Module (SHRM) is a 3-pipe inverter-controlled VRF system using R410A to provide simultaneous heating and cooling for partitioned or multi-zone environments.

The COP at full load is 3.83, which is boosted at part-load by the heat-recovery capabilities.

The range is offered in three sizes with cooling capacities of 22, 28 and 34 kW. The choice of indoor units includes cassettes, ducted, ceiling, wall-mounted and floor-standing units.

One SHRM module can serve up to 16 indoor units, with automatic switching between heating and cooling.

A range of interfaces to Windows packages, building-management systems and remote monitoring models is available. The system uses the same controllers as the Toshiba Digital Inverter and Super Digital Inverters.

The improvement in energy efficiency and reduction in footprint enables the system to be specified for many large applications — from luxury hotels to large office blocks.

The allowable separation between indoor and outdoor units is 125 m, with a 50 m lift. An active oil-management system increases the flexibility of design layout for outdoor and indoor units.
