HVCA adds its backing to CIBSE’s ‘Non-compliance costs’ campaign

HVCA, CIBSE, non-compliance

The president of the Heating & Ventilating Contractors’ Association, Graham Manly, has underlined the association’s enthusiastic backing for the ‘Non-compliance costs’ campaign launched recently by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. He stressed that non-compliance with legislation designed to address the twin challenges of sustainability and carbon reduction was becoming a culture — and was already jeopardising the nation’s ability to meet its long-term environmental targets.

Graham Manly says, ‘ I am delighted to pledge full HVCA support for the “Non-compliance” costs campaign against widespread flouting of the Energy Performance in Buildings and F Gas Regulations.’

The campaign seeks to highlight the true cost of non-compliance in terms of environmental damage, carbon emissions and lost opportunities for energy conservation.

Graham Manly was speaking at the annual general meetings and conference of the HVCA specialist groups in the City of London.

The campaign is also being supported by BRE Global, the British Institute of Facilities Management and the Green Building Council.
