T5 fluorescent tubes achieve payback of less than a year
Published: January 2011
Osram has added three more fluorescent tubes to its Lumilux T5 range. The T5 High Efficiency Energy Saver and the T5 High Output Energy saver both use 10% less energy for the same light output as conventional HE and HO tubes. The third tube is the 49 W T5 HO Constant. The energy efficiency of the HE and HO tubes can achieve a payback of less than a year. T5 HE ES tubes are available in 25 and 32 W versions and provide the same light output as 28 and 35 W T5 HE tubes, respectively. T5 HO ES tubes are available in 45, 50 and 73 W versions with the same light output as the HO 49, 54 and 80 W tubes, respectively. Both HE and HO tubes can be operated with Osram’s Quicktronics intelligent control gear. The 49 W T5 Constant offers more choice for applications where the ambient temperature is high. It can also be used for high-bay lighting, cold storage and narrow design luminaires. These lamps have a luminous flux greater than 90% with an ambient temperature from 20 to 80°C and a life of up to 18 000 h.
