Warwick Hospital has become the second hospital to benefit from solar energy through a partnership between Community Energy Warwickshire and South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. This 50 kW solar PV system follows a 10 kW installation for Stratford Hospital. Both were installed by Eco2Solar.

The latest system comprises 204 Suntech panels and three inverters. It is expected to produce over 20 MWh of electricity a year, all of which will be used on site.

Community Energy Warwickshire was set up by Warwickshire residents to invest in renewable energy and help local communities save energy. Its share offer was launched in October 2011 and has raised nearly £110 000 towards its target of £115 000.
