Powrmatic supplies heat pump air conditioners for secure control centre

Powrmatic, air conditioning

As part of a major renovation of old industrial units to create a new headquarters, SmarTrack, which specialises in tracking vehicles and assets has installed Powrmatic’s Midea heat-pump air conditioners. They were supplied by the climate-control division of Tidyco.

SmarTrack has won several awards for its expertise in devices for tracking stolen vehicles. The new facility in Leicestershire includes product assembly and warehousing, as well as the company’s secure global telemetrics control centre.

James Mather, managing director of SmarTrack, explains, ‘The renovated building needed to be very secure because of our control centre, so opening windows was not an option, and air conditioning with heat recovery was essential. We invited tenders from three companies and selected Tidyco on the basis of their ability to add value to the project within our budgets. As they use our trackers, there was also an existing relationship, which was reassuring from a security perspective.’

Five heat-pump inverter-controlled units have been installed in the offices, with another unit in the server room. Portable Midea air conditioners have also been supplied by Tidyco for use in the stock room.
