The refurbishment includes the installation of a new lighting scheme, a new fire-detection and emergency-lighting system and the rewiring of all electrical distribution across eight floors. A monitoring project to determine energy usage is also being undertaken.
The work is being carried out while the offices are occupied, and services will remain live throughout. Work is thus being carried out floor by floor, with the sixth floor being used as the ‘temporary’ floor for staff whose office is being upgraded. The project is expected to be completed by February 2008.
