New heating system is answer to church’s prayer
Published: May 2009
A failing Victorian heating system in a church at Penwortham near Preston has been replaced with a modern boiler-based system using two Remeha Quinta 65 boilers. St Mary’s Church is Grade 2 listed building, and the extensive refurbishment is preserving the fabric of the buildings, parts of which date back to mediaeval times. The old heating system had cast-iron pipework, leaking boilers and asbestos insulation. The lightweight Quinta boilers have noise levels of less than 48 dB(A) and NOx emissions of less than 25 ppm (0% oxygen, dry) and a gross efficiency of 99%.
