Fujitsu has invested in a £20 million facility to make its own compressors

Air-conditioning manufacturing Fujitsu has completed a £20 million investment in a 7500 m2 compressor manufacturing facility for middle and large size air-conditioning products. Before the completion of this factory, Fujitsu bought compressors from a variety of sources. The new factory is on the site of the company’s Thai subsidiary FGA.

The seamless assembly of mechanical parts, shells and motors shortens production times. The factory is expected to produce 400 000 units in its first year.

The factory will produce the DC inverter 2-cylinder rotary compressor, which is said to achieve 5% higher energy efficiency than comparable compressors on the market.
