Solar photo-voltaic systems are installer friendly

Photon Energy, Solar PV

Photon Energy’s Suntricity solar photo-voltaic package is said to put solar PV installations within the capabilities of most electrical contractors, whether they are sole traders or sizeable businesses. And for installers not yet qualified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, Photon Energy provides an MCS commissioning service to check installations and ensure they meet the MCS standard. This service also means that installations can qualify for payments under the Feed-in Tariff and help contractors gain their own MCS certification.

Suntricity kits are available through electrical wholesalers or direct from Photon Energy. They are available in five typical sizes, with other sizes and configurations available on request.

The smallest kit has a maximum electrical output of 1.4 kW and will produce about a third of the average household’s electricity requirement.

The largest standard kit has a maximum power output of 3.85 kW and an area of 30 m2. It will generate about 3.2 MWh a year on a south-facing unshaded roof, saving nearly 1.8 t of CO2 a year. It will produce about 90% of a typical family’s electricity requirement. Annual revenues could be up to £1580.
