Friatherm plastic pipework provided an effective replacement for copper when the boiler house in this college in Hampshire was refurbished.

Durapipe’s Friatherm plastic pipework system has been specified for a boiler refurbishment at Hurst Community College in Hampshire. The main boiler house was being refurbished, and a replacement was need for the existing copper pipework that had galvanised and stopped performing to the required standards.

Contractor Churches of Winchester chose Friatherm in sizes from 20 to 40 mm to transport hot water from the boiler throughout the college on a flow and return system.

Steve Soper, project manager with Churches, said, ‘We found the Friatherm product to work exceptionally well on site and was extremely easy to install, saving us time on the project and proving to be exceptionally cost effective for our overall project budget.’
