Aereco offers 30-year guarantee for sensor

Aereco, demand controller ventilation

Aereco, which specialises in demand-controlled ventilation (DCV), offers an unconditional 30-year guarantee on the humidity sensor used to control grilles. Unlike other ventilation systems, a humidity-sensitive DCV system has no filters that need changing, so a system is virtually maintenance free and can be planned into the life of an actual building — with the 30-year guarantee offering peace of mind to specifiers and end users.

Humidity-controlled grilles for passive-stack ventilation systems are rated ‘good practice’ in the Energy Saving Trust’s ‘Good practice guide 268’.

Part F of the Building Regulations refers to DCV systems in paragraph 4.18. It recognises their benefits as including their ability to maintain good indoor air quality without over-ventilating, thereby reducing energy consumption. BRE IP13-94 has recommended controlled grilles reacting to humidity for PSV since 1994.
